#misi21 - Day 17, Celebrating life..
Day 17 is our about friends! We started our morning to buy some souvenirs for our loved one in Jakarta.. Setelah Shopping spree, Tasia wanted to meet her old Melbourne friend namanya Loli at Cafe Angelina, its an old fashioned cafe with Awesome French cuisine.

The cafe

Cheese and Garlic soup

Crispy Rabbit with baked rice

Ham & Cheese Quiche
Our catch up with Loli, her husband and their son Duncan was really fruitful.. Apalagi Duncan, he is really cute and adorable! Kesukaannya playing around with her mom bag, dan dia marah2 kalau tas mamanya direbut.. hahaha..

Setelah makan, we had farewell with Loli, husband and Duncan.. And we were surprised to see Duncan cried BIG TIME and don’t want to leave aunty Tasia.. I guess, Tasia is a kids magnet, hehe =p
Then we continue our day with street-shopping across Rue Royale, St. Honore, Ave Montaigne and Champs Ellyses area. Oh ya, hari ini juga hujannya deras banget di Paris, untungnya masing-masing bawa payung..
Malamnya, we decided to eat Italian food, I guess our Italy trip is far from enough.. Still craving for more pastaaa X).. This time is my turn to catch up with my ex colleague @ Magnivate, Jonathan Hagard, he used to work for internship at Magnivate in 2008 and now working as an interactive designer at Unit 9 - one of the leading interactive agency based in London.

Such a tiring day! We are so contented with our cross border friendship and relationship =) Life is good..
Reward in eternity does not depend on recognition in life.
#misi21 - Day 16, Mission trip
Today is special! Because it is Tasia’s last day @ her make up course in MAKE UP FOREVER ACADEMY, Paris.. So, i asked her once again untuk isiin contentnya day 16, also to share her experience and story gimana ceritanya kt bs ended up in Paris.. (well, sebenernya gw dah mulai sibuk ngurusin kerjaan en masih utang banyak cerita sih.. jadi sedikit berbagi content with her =p).. nuff said, here it is… enjoy :) #misi21 - Day 16, Mission trip Bonjour!! The duration of the trip yang 3 minggu ini sesuai banget sama misi21, dimana dalam misi ini a person is to commit to do a new thing every single day for 21 consecutive days in order to find his/ her passion in life. Perjalanan selama 21 hari di Europe inilah yang kemudian melahirkan blog ini untuk mendokumentasikan misi21-nya Kevin dimana dia commit to do new things everyday during our 21 days journey in Europe. Saya juga punya my own mission in this trip, and it is also related to my passion although I did not know about misi21 when I decided to go to Paris. Jadi jawaban saya untuk pertanyaan orang-orang mengenai tujuan trip saya kali ini adalah: “It’s a mission trip”. A mission trip to discover my passion, and for this I took a brave move and went all the way to Paris to take an intensive make up course at Make Up For Ever Academy in Paris. Just FYI, the academy has been very well recommended and is known as the “Harvard school” for make up. Beberapa pertanyaan berikut mungkin muncul di benak kalian setelah mendengar jawaban saya barusan. “Terbang jauh-jauh untuk mengejar passion? Is it worth it?”, “Memangnya penting banget ya to find out about our passion?” Well, just have a look at the biography of people who are successful at what they do. When I did this, one thing became obvious to me. Those people made it and have become where they are now because they are passionate with what they do and hence, become very very good at it. The key would be to know what our passion is. A question that does not seem too hard to answer; yet only 1 out of 10 people know the answer. This million dollar question requires 100% honesty to ourselves for self discovery. My journey to discover my passion went back to my childhood. I remember myself as a little girl, sneaking in into my mom’s room to look out for her make up kit. My eyes lit up as I found her lipstick. I opened it. Bright solid red lipstick. Unsure and curious, I tried it on my lips as I had seen my mom wearing it before. I looked at my reflection in the mirror. The little girl transformed to a lady immediately. That was my first encounter with make up. As I grew up, I started to get to know more about make up, beauty and fashion. People often asked me for fashion advices, do their make up, or to help assist them for a complete make over. I really enjoyed doing all these and many people suggested that I should consider a career in beauty or fashion related field. However, with my commerce degree I always thought that I should pursue a career related to my degree. Tasia - Make Up For Ever ACADEMY certificate. Through this writing, I would like to encourage you to be honest and ask yourself, “What makes me tick?” Really, what is your passion? I believe God has given each one of us a unique passion and strengths which are all inter-related, in order for us to live the big plan He has in our lives. This so called “mission trip” of mine, is a bold act that I took as part of my lifelong journey to live my life according to my life’s purpose.
Fast forward to 2010, still as fascinated with make up as I was before but had done nothing to take it further. After all, make up, beauty and fashion had been just hobbies to people, right? I could not be more wrong. Look at the size of the fashion and beauty industry. Visit Italy and look at the big advertisements and billboards everywhere, they are all beauty and fashion advertisements. Go to France and witness yourself how people from all around the world come and spend millions on bags, clothes, make up products, etc. People do make a career out of this. Even in Indonesia, top hair stylist and make up artist make a fortune. I recently spoke to one of the most famous hairdressers in Indonesia and he said “people used to want to work for big companies, big banks, etc. No one wanted to pursue hairdressing as a career. But look at us now, I make hundreds of millions a month. Probably more than salary of many Directors in big companies”. This is one evident that the key to be successful at what you do is to discover what your passion is and be diligent at it.
People need to change their perspectives, not their problems.
